I spent most of early 2015 looking forward to a 2nd safari in Northern Tanzania. This time I was with a good friend, John Hughes, a member of Morecambe Camera Club and an excellent wildlife photographer.
At 77 years old I was a little apprehensive about the trip but after we got to Arusha and met our Takims Holidays and Safaris Guide/Driver Laban Gervas everything settled down. Laban had spent 5 years at college studying wildlife conservation and was very, very knowledgeable about it. After the first two days he became one of us and gave as much banter back as he got. By the end of the safari he was just like a friend and we were sorry to go. He did a lot of videoing for me so that I could concentrate on the still camera. We have kept in touch via email. During our stay he found 134 species of birds and 40 different animals.
