Bottle Nosed Dolphins

I have spent many hours on the beach at Chanonry Point on the Black Isle in Scotland watching and photographing the school of Bottle Nosed Dolphins that inhabit the coastal waters all the way up stream to the Beauly Firth. They are usually unpredictable but at the shingle point near the lighthouse they can be near enough to splash you if you are at the waters edge. There is an extremely fast tide rip near the shore so do not go into the water.

If they do ‘perform’ they are wonderful to see, difficult to photograph when jumping, but well worth the effort if you get a good one.
